Joe Hurley founded Chi-Rho Financial in January 2000 and its predecessor, Chi-Rho Trading Company (a registered Commodity Trading Advisor-CTA), in 1994. Prior to founding Chi-Rho Financial, Mr. Hurley traded S&P 500 futures and options for the public as a CTA and maintained two unaffiliated trading partnerships with local traders on the Chicago Board of Options Exchange-CBOE. Prior to that he served as the Head Trader for Austin Calvert & Flavin, a Texas-based asset management firm, and its hedge fund, Encino Partners. From 1981 to 1992, Mr. Hurley worked for various member firms, hedging corporate currency liabilities and trading volatility and option pricing, as well as institutional fixed income sales. Mr. Hurley’s experience in investing and managing capital in hedge funds exceeds 25 years, and he has been continuously licensed with the NASD/FINRA and SEC for over 39 years.
Mr. Hurley is the Chief Investment Officer on the Chi-Rho Investment Committee and is responsible for managing the overall portfolios. He works closely with the Chi-Rho analysts, the underlying managers and other professional traders to source ideas and strategy. Mr. Hurley holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Furman University and is very active with his family and various Christian ministries.
Steve Smith joined Chi-Rho as Chief Financial Officer in 2001. Steve is responsible for the accounting and financial management for the general partner and investment funds. Additionally, he is oversees production of all client performance reporting. Prior to joining Chi-Rho, Steve spent 17 years in mergers, acquisitions, and private equity investing. Steve holds a B.I.E. in Industrial & Systems Engineering from Georgia Tech and an MBA in Finance from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Bo Hurley joined Chi-Rho as the Associate Director of Marketing in September 2009 and was promoted to the Vice President and Director of Marketing in December 2010. Bo is responsible for facilitating communications between Chi-Rho, and its various managers and investors. Bo works closely with each member of the Chi-Rho team to ensure that each of our investors receive current and timely updates on our managers. Prior to joining Chi-Rho, Bo worked as an Account Manager at Ink Publishing and Katz Media Group in Atlanta. He holds a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Marketing from the University of Georgia.
Peter Hurley joined Chi-Rho as a Financial Analyst in August 2019. Prior to joining Chi-Rho, Peter was an Associate at Arsenal Capital Partners, a New York-based private equity firm with approximately $5 billion of capital under management, focusing on Specialty Industrials and Healthcare control investments. Prior to Arsenal, Peter worked as an investment banking Analyst at Citigroup in New York. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Georgia.
Jason Buser joined Chi-Rho Financial as Director of Finance in April 2021. Prior to joining Chi-Rho, Jason spent ten years at Delta Air Lines, most recently as Director of Financial Planning and Analysis (2018-2020) and General Manager of Investor Relations (2014-2018). Jason started his career in Equity Research at Raymond James & Associates, where he covered the payment processing and information services industries. Jason holds an MBA from Duke University and a BBA from Stetson University as well as the Chartered Financial Analyst and Certified Management Accountant designations.
Cynthia joined Chi-Rho as Director of Operational Due Diligence in August 2021 and brings significant experience to Chi-Rho’s investment team. Prior to joining Chi-Rho, Cynthia worked at LCG Associates for five years as Director of Operational Due Diligence, where she conducted initial and ongoing evaluations of operational policies and procedures of alternative investment managers. Previously, Cynthia was a Partner, Director of Investor Relations at Bay Point Advisors, LLC, where she led the marketing and sales activities, including developing new client relationships and positioning of the product’s strategy. She has also held roles at Citadel Asset Management, ING Investment Management, Earnest Partners, Wachovia Bank, Arthur Andersen, Goldman Sachs & Co., and Calibre/Wheat First Butcher Singer. Cynthia is a CFA charter holder and is a member of the CFA Society of Atlanta. She also holds the designation of Certified Public Accountant. Cynthia holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Alabama, where she was a Presidential Scholar.
Rachel Beverly joined Chi-Rho as a Senior Accountant in August 2021. Prior to joining Chi-Rho, Rachel was a Senior Tax Accountant at Ernst & Young, where she served various clients in the financial services industry during her three-year tenure. Rachel holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Master of Taxation, both from the University of Alabama, and also holds the designation of Certified Public Accountant.
Josh Beals joined Chi-Rho as a Financial Analyst in June of 2017. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a Concentration in Finance from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill. Josh also completed the necessary coursework for a double major in Political Science. Prior to joining Chi-Rho, he interned at a single-family office where he gained experience across a variety of asset classes, with a focus on hedge funds.
Hollis Huge joined Chi-Rho as an Investor Relations Analyst in August 2020. She works closely with Bo Hurley and the Investor Relations team while also assisting with overall Chi-Rho initiatives. Prior to joining Chi-Rho, Hollis was a Healthcare Communications Professional at Jackson Spalding, an Atlanta-based marketing communications agency, where she focused on several healthcare clients across Atlanta and the Southeast. Hollis holds a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations and a Master of Business Administration, both from Auburn University.
